is data pump export automatically "consistent"

I always used consistent=Y in my exp exports. Does anybody know if expdp has anything like consistent=Y or is it "automatically" consistent?

anybody used the data pump exports/imports enough to have any general comments/suggestions compared to using exp/imp?

thanks for any info
