Below is a web description for the above product. Designed for Microsoft® Visual Studio® and other COM-based development environments, the feature-rich Crystal Reports Report Designer Component 8 (RDC) gives developers unprecedented control over report layout and formatting for web and
Windows® application reporting.
Would this application make sense for a non-programmer to purchase? Or is it strictly a developer's application and the base Crystal Reports more practical? I currently am using SQL Server 2000 and Access 2000 to access the data tables on SQL Server and create reports. I would like to take advantage of SQL's Analysis Services module and need to find a good reporting tool.

thanks

The RDC is a programming tool that comes with the Developer's editon of CR. You don't need the RDC unless you are incorporating CR into a VB application. Ken Hamady
