Hello

I am new to Flash and I am quite taken aback by the HTML code which my Flash menu has generated.

I have this:

<object classid=&quot;clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000&quot;
codebase=&quot;id=&quot;menutest2&quot; width=&quot;530&quot; height=&quot;37&quot;>
..............
pluginspage=&quot;</embed></object>

Is this:

classid=&quot;clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000&quot;

and this:

codebase=&quot;
really necessary? Isn't the URL referred to in the codebase just something that the robots and spiders will pick up? That is, a free advert for macromedia?

Thanks for any replies.

The classID is to tell the browser that it is an activeX Flash Movie, and the 'pluginspage' directs your browser to macromedia download page if you don't have the flash plugin Regards
