Is citrix the right choice instead of re-developing applications??

I have created two applications for a medium sized company. Both applications are client/server based. They have 5 branches in Canada and the United States as well as many clients in both countries. They would like to have one of the applications re-done so it will be accessible through the web. This will require minimum of 1 year of design and development. I was considering implementing a citrix solution instead that would allow both the clients and branches full access to both solutions. Would this be a logical choice and if so, what would be a good estimate of cost for licencing of about 30 users? Many thanks for your help.

Cheers,

Mike

check out applications2u.com. They may be able to host the application through the web for you. This would be far better than trying to setup a secured environment through Citrix for hosting one application.

It all depends on the Clients perspective. What you may want to do is suggest the citrix solution as an interum step while the new application is written. Citrix is not that expensive. for 20user xpa your looking @ ~$5k-8k.

This will keep all happy.

Good luck

Not that expensive from a license point of view. However to setup a Secure gateway archetecture you are looking at 1 CSG/WI, 1 STA, and 1 CTX server at a min. Add to that the possible need for domain controller and file services. It really depends on what you have available as far as hardware.
