Is anyone running IP Agents softphones from the US to India over the internet ?
I was told VOIP from US over internet it not within the India protective telecommunication laws but someone on a different forum mentions VOIP endpoints are ok but gateways .. any info please

just the delay and round trip time, will probably cause the calls to have huge amounts of echo, and will sound pretty bad. that's my opinion and I am sticking to it.

We did testing with 3 IP softphone V6 and it sounded GREAT over VPN connection. THe vendor we want to us is giving us a hard time on the Telecom laws in India . I am just looking for more details on that.

As long as the IP calls stay within your company there is no issue with Indian regulations. You will have to disclose you intentions however. Also call can not originate in India pass over WAN to overseas PBX then route out PSTN. That is toll bypass and India telecom will shut your WAN down if it is discovered

I've had people from the US visit India. They brought their softphone with them. It sounds like they were using their desk phone. Worked great.
