Good Morning,
I am a new comer to the forum, and I hope I have the right area to ask this question.
At my job, we submit end of shift reports for maintenance technicians. They pass on what happened during the shift to the oncoming technicians, and are usually done via email. This does not lend itself well to searching for specific information within the emails.
We are a new launch department, and have the opportunity to set things up for the future that will help troubleshoot and archive data based on the lessons learned.
So I was thinking of setting up an Access database that the techs could use to submit these reports. That way we could reference back to what was done in the past on a particular machine, and cut down on troubleshooting time.
Since I'm not that experienced in writing databases, I was looking at using a template for the reports. Also I was thinking that it would require some kind of a front end application to access the data, and not use the MS Access as a front end. Not sure.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
