Is a XMLParser a Com Object or a DLL ??

writing up some research notes, and in general is a XMLParser such as MSXML a Com Object or a DLL
 
in "general" XMLParsers come in a variety of types. specifically MSXML is a COM object and therefore is packaged in a DLL
