Hi~

Seems like a reasonable quest, but I'm having a difficult time of it.

I want to build an entry form in Flash 8 and have the entered values stored in SQL Server.

I found tons of info on Flash and Coldfusion (gosh...) and something that mentioned having to use a PHP file between the Flash and ASP/SQL Server.

Is there really no direct connection possible between these two huge products?

Thanks~

flash cant connect directly

you must use a server side script

either php or asp will do fine

Thanks, Bill. That's encouraging. Then it's server side that's the key, not specifically PHP. Great!

I haven't been "flashing" in awhile, and was thrown off because I thought I remembered having done an ASP/Flash thing. I think it was using something like sendvar and getvar, but that was a couple of versions ago and as I remember there were a few tricks involved before it worked.

I just started working with the "8" series and thought there might be some new technique involved. I'll find some tutorials on get/sendvars and should be able to get it going from there.

Thanks again for the concise and most useful reply.
