Is 275631 - IPO-R9-ESSNTL-ED-ADI-LIC Compatible with 8.1

I am taking a customers IP Office 500v2 Preferred Edition from 7.0 to 8.1. We purchase an upgrade license but for whatever reason the virtual Essential Edition did not generate during the upgrade. At that point all the digital phones said no license available. We have now purchased an Essential Edition license but it's description says R9. Will it work on 8.1? The knowledge base (see below) makes it sounds like it should work but if anyone has any experience that would be great.

Essential Edition : IPO R9 ESSNTL ED ADI LIC - 275631
For Release 8.0 and higher, this license is required for IP500 V2 systems to run in IP Office Essential Edition. It is therefore a pre-requisite to the Preferred Edition and Advanced Edition licenses on those systems. This license is not required for systems running IP Office Basic Edition - PARTNER® Mode, IP Office Basic Edition - Norstar Mode or IP Office Basic Edition.

if you have the licence already, try it.
you cannot do any harm, the worst that will happen is the system will show it as invalid/unknown.

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

If this works, which I think it will, you might as well push it through to 9.0. If you bought the upgrade license recently it should be a R9 upgrade license anyways.

This worked. We didn't have any issues using the 9.0 Essential Edition license on 8.1.
