irix 6.5 doesn't forward email

hi,
we have 7 SGI machines, two of them have been upgraded to irix 6.5 from lower version, and they can not forward email, even I have .forward file in my folder and it's permission is right.
the other machines are just fine, no problem for forwarding email.
any idea is appreciated.

Yes, the sendmail daemon is running,
thank you, ZaSter, I got it., the problem is my home directory is goup writable, i change it, and it works.
