Irix 6.5.12 and DLT8000 setup?

I am trying to install a dlt8000 on a inix 6.5.12 system.

Is there anything special I should watch out for?

I know that the file /usr/var/sysgen/master.d/scsi configures the ts driver handle the dlt8000, but is there something else?

I also been reading that people have been disabling the ts driver, and using the tps driver instead.

What has been the method that works? And are there any SGI patches that are needed?
