This might be one of those questions that dies because there is no answer, but I really hope not.

The iRiver H10 20gb has a different firmware from the iRiver H10 5-6gb, so using the international firmware from those is a Bad Idea (tm).

Let me explain from the beginning.

The H10-20 (as opposed to H10-5 as I will call them in the rest of the post) has to my knowledge only been released in the US (and may even be discontinued? don't know for sure). It is an MTP product, which means it will work very well with Windows and not at all with Linux.
There is however a way to make it act as a UMS device (an external hard drive, essentially, is how it is then seen). I have not succeeded in mounting it because I don't get something in /dev that looks like it wasn't there before I plugged in the iRiver.

Anything you find about using International firmware should be double-checked to make sure you're not reading something about the H10-5.

I am asking for help.. Does anyone have one of those contraptions of the devil, and have you made it work under Linux? Or could you, do you think, help me make it work.. Via here?
