I am running the E-Trust anti-virus program, and for the last week or so, it has detected a virus called "win32.ircflood trojan". The anti-virus deleted all of the files it found associated with the virus. However, it kept reappearing every day. Today, when I started my computer, Windows loads but none of the icons on my desktop are appearing, nor is the Start Menu. The anti-virus program immediately detects the trojan but it won't allow me to delete any of the files. It is basically just informing me that the virus is there. What can I do? I tried running my computer in safe mode, but I could never get Windows to load.
