I have the Linksys BEFSR41. On irc when transferring a file via DCC, WindowsXP will randomly pop up a "Network Connection Has Been Unplugged" window. Sometimes this will occur multiple times before having to reset my router. The transfer will connect, begin to transfer, and at some point die. I've spent many hours with Linksys tech support on this one. Anyone have some insight on this one?

Do you have ports forwarded in the router and same ports set in your IRC client's dcc options?

Try lowering down the SPEED of your NIC CARD to 10 megs.. you may be incountering packet loss and intermitent disconnections. also set MTU to 1492...

I just got a new cable modem, different manufacturer, and the problem has completely disappeared. Thank you very much for your replies.
