IR repeater 1

I'm doing a home automation job on my house and need some help on an IR repeater. Am I able to connect 1 ir repeater to control lets say audio,dtv,dvd. or do I need 1 for each component. and can anyone steer me in the right direction in purchasing such a device. thanks in advance

You need:

One IR receiver for each room where you want use a IR remote.

One IR flasher for each controlled piece of equipment.

Connecting block(s), wire (cat5 is fine) and possibly some 330 ohm resistors.
