I'm upgrading some Cognos Data models from Transformer 6.6 to Transformer 7.1.513.0 MR2 because that's what the client uses.

Will I need to upgrade or modify the .iqd files?

you should be fine; it's only if you change the database or the method of access (eg ODBC driver) might you need to recreate the iqds.
