I recently upgraded one of my servers from NT 4.0 to W2K Server. Filemaker Pro 5.0 Server is also installed. Two scenarios:
1. Our salesmen (off-site) accesses Filemaker via TCP/IP
2. inside-sales accesses Filemaker via IPX
The problem:
There are times when inside-sales try to access Filemaker via IPX and it fails. When IPX fails, they are able to access via IP. What we found is that when you stop the Filemaker Server Service and re-start, inside-sales can access via IPX. Any suggestions why this is happening? What is more confusing is that there are times when all is well.
