I need to upgrade a 1604 and 3620 router to route IPX/SPX traffic between a branch office and our HQ. Guided by some helpful souls here, I DLd the two new images (c1600-ny-l.120-8.bin and c3620-d-mz.122-2.t.bin) that allow IPX routing.

I purchased a new flash card for a spare 1600 and COPY TFTP FLASHed the new image to it. A SHOW VER lists the image file as c1600-y-mz.120-8 which is the OLD image.

SHOW FLASH, on the other hand, lists c1600-ny-l-120-8.bin as the flash file. This is the new, and presumably correct, flash file. Can anyone tell me why the discrepancy?

More importantly, I STILL dont have an IPX option at any prompts.

Any suggestions?

Never mind, I'm an idiot. I thought I'd rebooted after loading the new image, but apparently not.
