IPX Routing for Cisco 2620 XM series router

Hi To All,

Anybody can help me if the cisco 2620 xm series can support IPX routing protocol. I got en error when enabling IPX routing. What do I need to enable this feature? Below is the Version: Thanks in advance

That router can run IPX but you have the IP Base image there so you are only running the Basic IP image (i.e. there is no support for non-IP protocols like IPX).

If you need IPX, you will need to upgrade the IOS to something more substantial like the IP/IPX/Appletalk feature set (filename is c2600-bin-mz.123-21.bin ) or perhaps Enterprise Base (filename is c2600-entbase-mz.123-21.bin) - whichever is cheaper. I've checked your memory confguration and your router will support either of these images.

Both files are available on Cisco.com but there will be a cost to you to get either these images. Some of the extensive feature sets can cost nearly a $1000!! but hopefully that shouldn't be the case here
