Hi there,

I just need to know what are the benefits of using IPX instead of TCP/IP. How would we decide that IPX should be used rather than TCP/IP? could you give me some examples of IPX implementations

Thank you.

IPX is a protocol generally used in a Novell Netware environment, It is quite easy to implement as you do not have to assign a address to each node. I have heard some people say that it carries data better than TCP/IP

Why would you want to use it?

TCP/IP is the protocol of the Internet, if you are dealing with one network segment it is quite easy to implement.

If you are connecting less than 10 computers in a workgroup arrangement NetBEUI is a peice of cake.
