IPX 802.2 traffic on Summit48 1

Does the Summit48 have any problem with IPX 802.2 traffic?
I dont see 802.2 come up in the documentation for the product, only that it supports IPX routing. I dont need to route the IPX traffic, but I'm not sure how it handles 802.2 traffic on the LAN. I've also checked the switches config util for IPX, but do not see the IPX config options that I have on our 3Com SuperStackII Switch 1000. I'm trying to make sure all systems are only talking 802.2 not any 802.3.

We have implemented an extreme solution customer un-nameable...they have some IPX machines...I will ask the guys involved for the information..... as i said before it werent pretty....

I've heard of another issue with alpine switches and and older version of Novell....

What's you're hardware at present?

Right......apparently the settings don't allow for 802.2 (think this is the right way round) you have to set the Frame type to protocol Any. this will then allow the traffic to pass.. It is described in the manual but the most important thing is to get the frame type correct.....according to the guys anyway...;-)

I have one Netware 4.1 server and several WinNT4.0 servers all connected to the Summit48. I also have 2 3Com SuperStackII Switch 1000's that are connected to the Summit. Most users(Win9x) are connected to 3com hubs that are in turn connected to the SuperStack Switches. Some of the power users are connected directly into the Summit for 100Mbps connectivity. The reason this (802.2 question) all came up was because we use a hardware lock system for license metering of some apps. PC's can have multiple locks connected to them and act as a server to others. In some situations some pc's didnt see the lock servers. I thought this MAY be related to the Summit. Although I have since found out that the lock software uses UDP broadcasts to see other systems that are running the same software on the network. I'll check the frame type setting on the Summit, it should be in the default setting.
