I have my i2050 soft phone working over my software client vpn tunnel and it works great. Now I am trying to get the IPView to work. It works correctly on computers on my local network but for some reason I am not receiving the call center data to the IPview. I get the message OUT Mode when I start it. I can log into my call center reporting server and make config changes and do anything but I can't run real time detail or summary reports. Any ideas?
Thanks
Mr. Brent

Sorry Mrbrent I have not forgot about you I will try to recreate the fault you are having in the lab switch tommorrow.

Have you got a firewall?

What size of call center?

Is it call center pro or basic?

My call center is pro and I have the call center reporting as well. I have not put the call center on line at my company yet as we are testing the programing so I only have 3 copper lines and 4 digital stations and 2 IP soft phones attached right now. I noticed when I came back to my pc this morning that the ipview connected at some point and had counted the number of incomming calls for the day and listed the grade of service at 100 so I placed a call into the que and the IPview didn't update at all so I restarted the ipview and now all fields are blank and have been that way for about 10 minutes now. I am connected to the corp lan with a software VPN client thru a sonicwall firewall. At first I thought it may be not a fast enough connection but the IP soft phone works great and I am guessing that uses more bandwidth than the ipview would.
Thanks for all your help!
Mr Brent

I can post what ports we opened in the firewall if that would be helpfull.
Mr Brent

Rather than you post the ports that you have open I will double check what ports you need open and post them up for you.

The only port you need open is port 80 to web browse in,to start the session. You might find that you are trying to get reports but the system has not got a lot of information if it is not a fully functioning call center.

Have you had training on running reports?
Are you looking at the real time stats?

I think I have a teach yourself guide to setting up reports I will try and find it and post a link.

I can run real time reports when in my corp office on the local lan but I can't run when I am remote throught the vpn tunnel. I looks like the ipview starts to work after sitting awhile and may be slow to respond real time like when on the local network.

Are you running the I2050 handset at the same time.

The reports should not be very bandwidth demanding.

What is the spec of the IIS machine were the reporting master client is held.

Have you checked that the master reporting PC can ping your machine incase there is some issue sending the information when you request it.

Have you tried to run the IP view wall boards to see if that information is getting to your PC at home.

Sorry forgot to ask have you got any antivirus software on your home machine.

There is an issue with norton. You need to disable the file system real time protection. It might be worth trying to disable your antivirus software and try to run the reports and see what happens.

That is if you have one.

It looks like IPView is working. I opened port 3500 on my vpn tunnel and was trying a few other things so I'm not 100% sure that is what let it start to communicate. I do have antivirus running and I have 2 layers of it. It is a mcafee product which works along with my sonicwall router/firewall. It runs as a gateway antivirus which deep packet scans all traffic in and out of the router before it hits my machine and also runs a client on my pc. I will check on the real time file system protection on mine and see what I come up with. The Call center report server is really a desk top p4, 512MB ram and I can't recall right now but it is either 2000 or xp pro for an os. We origionally had it on one of our beefy duel xeon servers but could get to communicate to the bcm and we tried it on this other pc and made it work. We will have 10 to 12 agents logged on at a time at our peak and as few as one overnight so my question is how much of a server do we need for the reporting server?
Thanks
Mr Brent

The PS you are using is will above the min. spec. I would just check the antivirus like I say there is issues. Is the reporting working at present?

The realtime reports are working on my local lan but not remotly on the vpn tunnel. I have a supervisor that I would like to be able to watch remotely if I can get it to work.

Did you try to disable your antivirus software and see if it made a difference?

Or may be a better question can you disable your firewall and see if it works.
