Until recently, I haven't had a need to worry about bringing IPV6 into our network. at the moment, we're entirely windows 2003 along with exchange 2003. anyway, we recently purchased a new "green screen" system that the manufacturer recommends talks to a dns server that has ipv6 enabled along with ipv4. Our primary dns server is a windows 2003 sp2 box that is also the FSMO of our domain. I've done a bit of googling for ipv6 and windows 2003 and any issues people have seen. one topic I found talks about exchange loosing it's ability to connect to the domain controller after the domain controller goes ipv6 (still have ipv4 on there though). that makes me nervous..
I'm looking to see what others have done with ipv6 and windows 2003. Are there consequences to enabling it on just one box as opposed to all boxes? Is it simply not supported? Or, is it not even a big deal at all to install and enable ipv6 on 2k3 boxes as long as ipv4 stays enabled?
Is there a way to tell windows to use ipv4 over ipv6 without disabling one or the other?
Thanks for any advice and info!
