I understand that an IPSI board can now relace the TN744. Can anyone tell me how and where I can find this information?

thegator,

you're wrong. although ipsi board does provide tone generation (like tn2182) and tone receiver ports (like tn744), its main purpose is epn control via ip link to media server, environment control and so on. more of it, you can't put more than two ipsi boards into one port network. and finally, it's MUCH more expensive than tn744. so why do you want to use ipsi instead of tn744?!

Here's what I got from Avaya on the same topic:

"In a Stingray (S8700) system, all tone detection and call classification functions beyond those provided by the required TN2312 ISPI board(s) are performed by TN744 circuit packs. In other words, TN2182 is not supported on Port Networks which house TN2312 IPSI boards. TN 2312 IPSI board provides 8 ports for the TTR and CPTR features. Touchtone detection and Call Progress Tone detection should be provided first with the IPSI board, then with TN744.
