I have a question regarding IPSI programming requisite to moving from S8720 CM 5.2.1 to S8800 CM 6.0.1 (using the new DL360G7 servers). Our IPSIs are presently configured w/o the subnet bits, default gateway and speed/duplex entries filled out. Note, I am referring to what is in the ASA programming (CM 5.2.1 software itself).

The settings that are codes directly on the IPSI are the ones you need to check.

I don't even know why those setting appear in CM. They don't seem to affect anything when you alter them.

If you session into the IPSI directly from Command Line (linux prompt) you can check those setting.

Either way ... upgrading and moving to a new server pair shouldn't require any IPSI reconfiguration.

A very wise and well respected man once told me "Shut Up!".

cm 6 no longer has control network a and b.
the ipsi's will need to be reconfigured onto the corporate lan.

IPSI can remain on the A/B network as long as it is routable to the corporate network address of the new servers. This may be the preference for customers with remote cabinets and duplicated/redundant/diversified path networks.
