Hi all, Well i am trying to establish a vpn tunnel between two Dlink 804HV routers. One side of the router has static IP address and other side is dynamic(dsl)and the VPN router is connected like this on remote site.

Internet<=>Modem <----> Router <----> Firewall router <-----> VPN router

What i have done is configured the router with static ip address and Dynamic vpn, well wasn't helpful at all. And i have done research online before posting here that both sides of the tunnel should have static ip address. Well i also found online that if is configure Dynamic VPN on static router then it eliminate the need to have static ip on client side. Do you think that VPN router has to be connected directly with modem. Any help setting up VPN with above configuration might be helpful or any othe suggestion like changing the design.

Thanks in advance.....

get ride of the router that is after the modem
the d-link 804hv has an option of ddns
use this otherwise it will not work
just configure the two d-link vpn routers like they have a static ipadress
only thing is that the remote gateway is the account of the ddns account you have to make
on the dynamic site fill in the ddns settings and on the static side fill in the ddns account at remote gateway
the dynamic site will sned the new ipadress to ddnsserver and the static side will find the new ipadress and then you have a tunnel

also a lot off info here
