I've read the Microsoft guides on best practice and I know how to do it, but those are for an ideal circumstance. Has anyone here actually done this across an entire network, and if so, are you willing to share your story so I can go in with my eyes a bit more open? Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about IPSec in a domain environment?

In a domain you should not need to use it unless you are going to have multiple sites and a VPN Tunnel. As long as you network is behind a firewall you should be protected. If you want an extra layer of security then each pc can have a firewall as well. If you will have employees remoting in then in RRAS you can configure IP Sec.
