ipSec between pix 501 and SMC 7004FW

I'm attempting to create an ipsec tunnel between the pix 501 and an SMC 7004FW. My experience to date says that different vendors have different interpretations of what the default settings should be. Whereas at least Cisco provides some flexibility, SMC is limited. So my question really is.. what kind of config is going to match the default config for SMC. or how can I find out?
