I'm running an IBM e-server xSeries 220 on a static IP asdl line, and I'm trying to get VPN running.
Currently, I have the server acting as a gateway between all internal users and the internet, and it is using DHCP and NAT to do so.
The server has a static IP that can be seen from outside.
Following is the problem that I am having:
When I try to enable 'remote access server' from the properties of the SERVER in the 'routing and remote access' service (in administrative tools), it informs me there was a problem with the service, and brings the Routing and Remote Access Server down.
The problem as viewed in the event log is:
*Unable to load C:\WINNT\System32\iprtrmgr.dll.
I've tried the steps outlined in
With no success. Unfortunately I can't try the 2nd solution given, because server 2000 won't let me remove the TCP/IP protocol (and yes I have administrator priveledges).
The other thing that is throwing me off, is that there is a 'device' that is not working properly. The WAN Miniport (IP). I can't remove this one either as it says it is essential for booting up. (Essential and not working, both at the same time. Very good).
I believe that both the dll file give above, and this device are started by NDISWAN.SYS.
I'm stuck here, and I need to get this VPN up by next week.
Thanks.
