i have users that use a citricx desktop - 5 servers in farm running 2003 sp - citrix xpa. i had an issue with explorer stalling so done a complete rebuild of all (took an image of each this time though so can squirt back quick.

i use a cut down profile so it's on the applications dir and the ntuser.dat i take.

app printers are iprinted - now some people when they print now it just say windows doesntthink it's installed correctly - delete the printer and resquirt and it's fine

can anyone think why it's doing this or a backend fix - dont want it to happy if i squirt an aimage vack

Make sure you have a new iprint client, also check your iprint settings file (on the iprint server) - I always set this to Install as Workstation printers - the default is User printers, and this can hose certain things up.

Also on Citrix you have the citrix specific tab, what have you configured on that?

it is the latest and the settings are all correct
it was only certain printers that knackered up

no idea why - the driver is on the box etc but just doesnt like it
others are fine

i cannot use the workstation option as it's citrix boxes so opens up a whole bag of security issues of people printing all over shop

worry about it if i does it again

Go check out the neet little iManager plugin for iPrint called the "iPrint Client Managment" plug in. Pretty much gives you the ability to manage iPrint printers similar to the way youcould manage NDPS printers.

Some pretty neat things in there, may take care of your issue. Have a 20 server citrix farm using it with out issue, Printers get installed every user session, and removed when they log out. So they see only thier printer, no other printer that has ever been installed.

i was using a nal that called an iprtcmd each time to squirt the printer. as originally i had volatile user dlu as well so users got blatted each time.

this was fine except if user had more than 3 printers then occasionally they opened an app before it squirted

so removed the squirt.

it is all ok again - just corruption in the roaming profile but no idea why - hopefully i will not have to reimage them again - so hopefully not get the issue again
