We have a fairly large IPOSE system with about 1100 endpoints, Equinox, Skype for Business intergration, ACCS, the whole shebang. It has 8GB of RAM and we are currently seeing that the IP Office service is running dangerously low on RAM, with One-X Portal eating more and more (4GB+) until there is nothing left and the service restarts, plus we get a host of alarms in SSA. The IPO Service never fully crashes but it's worrying. Has anyone else seen this?

How are you monitoring the ram usage?
Linux naturaly tries to assign unused ram as buffee to improve performance so any tools monitoring ram usage at the OS level on a long running server will always remote a high ram usage.

On x crashing does indiat you may have a proble here, as per derfloh a seperate application server is strongly recomended for large instalations.

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

We've been watching the RAM usage in the IPOSE port 7071 as well as via top, it looks like the java process just eats up all the available memory and sits there:

I doubt we will be able to migrate to an App Server but I appreciate the suggestions, I'll keep this in mind for future installs.

Why shouldn't it be possible? The one time effort will be less then rebooting from time to time. And the user experience will be better as well.

What version are you running? We had issue on early R11 releases but the latest 11.0.4 SP1 has resolved this One-X mem issue.

I agree that a dedicated app server would perform much better, but it's another story trying to convince the client to pay up for a dedicated box when the IPOSE does everything in one. It's not enough of a problem for them to warrant the expense yet.

They're running the latest 11.0.4.1.0 build 11

Its also worth noting that Avaya state that a standalone one-x server for over 300 IPO users should have a minimum of 8GB RAM on its own, so having just 8GB on an SE running one-x with 1100 users is always going to be difficult.
