I am trying to set up a softphone from a remote location.

I have setup a vpn connection to my office from the remote location. I am using a linksys usb vpn adapter at the remote location-- and a linksys vpn router at the office. I can successfully ping all the computers and routers at the office, but I cannot ping the ipoffice.

I have setup a ip route on the ipoffice but I'm unsure if I have missed anything. Can someone please let me know of any configurations that I may have missed or any advise that may be helpful.

The following route configured on your IP Office should allow you to ping it remotely:-

IP Address - Leave blank
IP Mask - Leave blank
Gateway - Type in IP Address of your office linksys router
Destination - LAN1

Would that be the only setting needed on the IP Office? The IP route configured to tell the PBX to route off-net packets to the router of the VPN?

For example network 1 IP is 192.168.0.0(IPO resides here)
network 2 IP is 10.10.0.0(softphone here)

VPN tunnel is created between the two networks, when a 10.10.0.0 request hits the 192.168.0.0 IPO it follows the IP route to look for the gateway to connect to the VPN.

Should the IPO be in the DMZ of the firewall, or what ports should be forwarded?
Are there any other settings on the IP Office to be concerned with?

I would sugest making the IPO the DMZ , VoIP uses a number or ports

1720 out bound to ititialize then inbound on $C000-$CFFF 49152-53247 for actual speach & can be a pig to setup on the Router even if supported
