i have a new ipo403 with rel 1.3 and i tried to upgrade the unit but lost it and i tried to connect thru the dte port..i did the at and at-x commands but then the ipo responds with ok and i could not see anything more in the tftp log...maybe i dont have the correct mac address in the manager/bootp? how do i get the mac address?any help in restoring my ipo pls?

Did you type the AT, AT-X, AT-X2 and AT-X3? eventually after all these you have to see the mac address and the ip address on the tftp log, sometimes the unit doesn't take the default address (192.168.42.1) instead takes the 192.168.42.6, you have to specify this address on the bootp form and be sure to have the ip403.bin on the correct directory.

Remember that you can't upgrade from 1.3 to 2.0 in one step, if you did that you have to return the ip403.bin version 1.3 first, and then try to upgrade to 1.99 and then 2.0

1 Make sure you are on a fixed IP Adress, as you have just defaultd the system use 192.168.42.2

2)set managers bradcast address to 255.255.255.255

3) click View/tftp log & note the mac address of your IPO it should be 00e007XXXXX

Creat a bot p entry as follows

Mac Addre - As above
IP Address 192.168.42.1
File name IP403.bin (or whatever)

Make sure your manager working director is set to the correct location

Not I have found that certain software can interfear with TFTP, Symantecs VPN client is one & I suspect there may be others
