Greetings.
We're in contact with a potential customer who has an IPO SE and ACCS and they have issues with their setup.
We have experience with IPO, VMPRO and 1XP and plenty of servers for trying the software but none with ACCS. So we are going to certify one of our technicians. But in the meantime we would like to try and replicate their setup in a lab.

A few questions regarding the above:
- Could we use IPOfficeDemo to try this setup? IPO Demo seems slim on lines and extensions but it comes with VMPro licenses and apparently there is an Avaya Contact Center Select license but...the WebManager in the license section also says that the system is not licensed for Select.
- If IPO Demo is ok to use for this, could I somehow make a backup of the customer's ACCS DB, restore it on our system and check if their annoyances are somehow "workaroundable"?
- Also, we see that for installing ACCS we need to generate certificates. Can we go with self-signed certificates? If so, does anyone know a good simple guide or tool that we can use to generate the certificate authority and the certificate?
Thanks in advance for any help you can spare us.

So, no one here knows if IP Office Demo can be used to try out ACCS (Contact Center Select)?
The Demo states that it comes with a license. We just don't know how to use it. Do we point ACCS to IPO Demo's IP address on port 52233(weblm)?
Thanks.

It comes with the IP Office licenses needed to run ACCS, but you still need ACCS licenses.

Hi janni78,
So, does that mean that in order to run ACCS one needs both licenses installed on IP Office's WebLM and also licenses installed on ACCS's WebLM?
That's bad. That means we can't show ACCS to a potential customer. :-(

Hi @derfloh,

Thanks for your reply.
Indeed, IP Office in Demo mode doesn't have any licenses in the WebLM. My bad.
What I meant to say is that using the Manager application I can see an ACCS license installed.
If IPO Demo was made for product demonstration and if IPO Demo comes with an ACCS license visible inside Manager, then how can we use it? I'm puzzled with this...
Thanks in advance.

The IP Office requires licenses for ACCS to be able to connect to it, these are included in the IP Office Demo.
You also need licenses for ACCS that you install on the WebLM for ACCS, so you need to get a ACCS Demo license as well from Avaya.

If you have a customer who has issues with their ACCS I strongly recommend hiring a consultant who can solve the issues until your technicians get training and experience with the product.

Interesting approach from Avaya. They have a great tool for demos called IP Office Demo, and that tool even comes with a license for ACCS. But if we want to showcase ACCS...we still need to get a license from Avaya! [ponder]
If I understand that properly, then there is an ACCS Demo license that should either be very inexpensive or even free (as in free beer), right?
Nevertheless I still don't follow their line of thought on this matter.
Thanks for your reply, @janni78 .
Cheers

You just have to understand, that IPO and ACCS are two different and independent products. Each one is individually licensed. The ACCS license is - as already told - only to allow ACCS to connect with IPO.

The IPO can work without ACCS. ACCS can't work without IPO.
If ACCS can't work on it's own, I honestly can't see these two as completely independent products.
I value and am thankful for your replies and for you having cleared my question.
Cheers

Theoretically ACCS could work without IP Office, IP Office only provides lines and phones for ACCS.
All routing, queuing etc is done by ACCS.

ACCS is basically a rebrand from AACC with some limitations, and AACC came from the Nortel side so it could technically be connected to a lot of different platforms.

You do realize that you would also need 3 servers just for ACCS ?

For ACCS you need agent licenses, multimedia licenses, supervisor licenses, announcement port licenses, dialog port licenses etc.

I guess you could just create a 30 day temp lioense in PLDS, but you can also buy a discounted demo license from Avaya.
