Dear Experts,

We ran the IPO500 for more than 4 years but recently we found the IPO500 Rel. 11.0 embeded VM lost 3 seconds recording in each voice message for unanswered calls.
The voice mail did not full.
We tried to reboot the IPO 500 but it could not resolve this problem.

Any suggestions is much appreicated.

3 seconds from the start of messages or from the end? What type of external trunks?

With analog lines, the IP Office will sometimes think it needs to remove several seconds of disconnect tone from the end of messages if you have analog lines.

In other scenarios, voicemail starts recording a message when in fact codec negotiation is still going on.

Both can be fixed by looking at your disconnect and codec configs. But meanwhile there are NoUser source numbers for both scenarios that might help:
VM_TRUNCATE_TIME=N where N can be 1 to 7 seconds
VMAIL_WAIT_DURATION=N where N is number of milliseconds.

Hi Sizbut,

Thanks for your information and we use the idap trunk for ddi/ outgoing trunk.

I have found that when this happens I reboot or power cycle to correct the problem.

When I record any auto attendant greeting I always pause about 3-5 seconds because it tends to not start recording for a few seconds after the beep. Also when using analog lines there is a delay required before the caller hears the announcement sometimes there is a click when the analog line answers.

My biggest issue is the there is no Housekeeping to delete old messages on Embedded. Strange that Avaya after all these years has not corrected this. Even the old Nortel basic voice mail systems had housekeeping to keep the hard drives or memory from filling up.

Embedded is actually not to bad for most small to medium business in my opinion.
