Hi,
I've got a IPO412 with the old version 3.0.
I would like to do an upgrade but can anybody tell me until what release can I upgrade it without a Upgrade version license?
I know for instance what now upgrading from R9 to R10 you need a license, but I am pretty sure before you could do it without purchasing a license until I don't know what release.
Many thanks

It is that old that i cannot even remember but i think 5.0 is the max.
You do not need an upgrade license.
Why do you want to upgrade?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

firmware is available up to release 6.1

But I don't know wether the IP400 also needs an upgrade license..

Isn't this an IPO500 license only?

The expansion modules are at 5.0 but the Control Unit is at 3.0 so at least I would like to upgrade it up to 5.0.
Besides, do you know how reset the control unit to default? I don't remember the ip address of the LAN1 interface so I can't access to it. I know the default ip address is 192.168.42.1, so if I can make a reset the values will come back to default.
Many thanks

Connect a laptop with Wireshark to LAN1 and you should see pretty quick which IP the IPO has.

Manager should see it even on a different subnet when directly connected :)

R5.0 on expansions = R3.0 on the processor

Thank you for the answers.
I didn't thought about the Wireshark and it is a really brilliant idea.
Finally I tryed with the typical:192.168.. and rang a bell and I found it in the 5 subnet.
I believe Manager could not detect ip address when are in different subnets, at least it didn't find any Ip Office when I was running it.
Regards

R5 is the highest you can go free... and as Westi pointed out Avaya used to make expansion modules 2 releases higher than the processor so an R3.0 processor would indeed run R5.0 for the expansion modules. No need to upgrade for that reason.

If you are on R3 now, what phones are you going to put on it? If you have old DT phones, they won't work past 2.1, 3.0(5xx).

IP400 units do need an upgrade license for R6.0+
