Looking to implement an IPO w/ ikon fax server. They want either a Tie line or analog? I cannot give tie w/o a PRI card and both slots are full. That isn't the issue. The question is the cust has a public PRI with 200 DID's 100 for extension and the other 100 for fax server. The fax server wants to see a call as the extension. IE. I call 111-555-1212, the IPO needs to send 1212 to the fax server over that analog co line? Any idea on how to do this?

Hope this helps, I'm not familar with Ikon Fax Server.

I set up a much simpler version of this with one DID number. I created a hunt group with four analog extensions. The four extensions were wired to a Brooktrout fax board. I built an incoming call route for the DID and pointed it to the fax hunt group.

If you did the same thing but just created an incoming call route for each DID (you may not have to create all 100 routes depending on your DID scheme) I think this would work. I believe the incoming DID number is passed along to the fax server. It would be very easy to test with one hunt group and two DIDs.

If this doesn't work, another option would be to get a PRI CSU/DSU. It should be able to route calls to the IP Office or the fax server based on the incoming DID. You could call Adtran pre-sales support (800-615-1176) and they'll tell you exactly what you need to order. I'm sure Kentrox and Paradyne, etc make something too, I've just had really good experiences with the Adtran pre-sales people.

There is a job aid for this, think it is under the argent stuff, is this evan on the website anymore?

Send the calls to a Fax group as mentioned above then depending on the dialogic card you may have to create a short code that uses the D option.

DID range - 610-952-1000 to 1099

Incoming call route
DID - 1000
Dest - *1000

Short Code
sc - *1000
tn - 250D1000 (250 being the fax hunt group)
ft - DialExt

When you call the did 610-952-1000 it is sent to sc *1000 which is sent to the fax hunt group, which are analog stations off of the ipo, then wait for connection and pass 1000 to the fax server.

If anyone knows a way to do this without a sc for each did I would love to know it.

try using the - character in the DDI

Incomming call route -10 or -61092510

dest *1000 (or whatever)

Short code *1000
TN 250D. (yes DOT)
feature Dial extn

. will send everything dialed to activate the short code as DTMF this is actuly the DDI digits recieved & not the short code itself.

The - character starts the DID matching process from let to right instead of the more usual right to left & will therefor be valid for 1ll DID's 1000 - 1099

Thank you all for the ideas, I am going to implement in 3 weeks, I will let you all know.

Thanks again.
