Is this possible? How would I go about intergrating the two systems? I would like to have the DNs on the IPO set up as a DSC on the Nortel 61c as part of the CDP.
Customer has no interest in getting rid of the 61c but wants the two systems to be networked together. I have done many Cisco IP intergrations with various Nortel PBXs but not an IPO.
Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Thank you

We don't speak Nortelese here in IPO land :)

I spoke Nortelese long before I spoke Avayaese so I can probably help.

If it's a true 61C, I'm guessing you don't have any IP capability. In that case, you'd have to run a QSIG PRI, assuming the 61C has QSIG packages, a dual PRI card (or open port on a PRI card), or a network slot and MSDL for a new PRI card. You probably know that part though.

If it's a CS1000SG (IP enabled 61C for the Avaya folks), and you have a signaling server, VGMC/MC32S card, and H.323 or SIP access port licenses, then you can run either H.323 or SIP trunks from the Nortel to the IPO. I've done that several times and it works well. The IP line on the IP Office would point to the node IP address of the CS1000 and you'd point the DSCs to your virtual route, and NRS will route them to the IP Office.

As long as you have virtual trunks on the Nortel you're in good shape. If you have the old ITG trunk setup with the ITG DCHIP board on a media card, then you're out of luck. While those are technically H.323, it was a proprietary implementation of H.323 and it won't work to an IPO. At least I could never make it works. Works fine using H.323 trunks on CS1000 4.0 through 7.5, and SIP trunks from 5.0 onwards. I never tried SIP from a CS1K in 4.0 or 4.5 however.
