Hi all

on one site I have a problem with IPO SoE, sw version 4.0(10)

I have 12 users (8 ds and 4 pot), 3 analog lines and 4 BRI

Customer says that the calls are randomly dropped, sometimes the telephone rings but they cannot take a call

I have a trace log but I don’t see anything strange in it, except this, but anyway I don’t know what does it means.

help?!

I guess it is only Avaya who can tell you what that means.
I would upgrade to 4.1.12
4.0.10 had many reboot issues.

I have a SOE on 4.0 (5)
We’ve tried to upgrade to 4.0 (10) or (14) or 4.1 (9) in one shot

Ever we get the machine stuck in the upgrading process.

Last time I unchecked the "verify" checkbox, and upgrading completed, and machine was dead.

have to complete the "resuscitation" method via DTE port to get it back to 4.0 (5)

Any special reason that prevents it from upgrade?

There was a 3.2.999 load for the SOE did you do that

Always use the 3.2.999 bin file with upgrading a SOE !!!
It has not enough memory to do it at once !!!

I really did that 3.2 (999) before going to 4.0 (5)

Did you have Bootp enabled ?
I am not sure but i believe it is an offline upgrade wich means it totaly erases it's software to make room for the new one
Then it needs it to pull it with the bootp entries like when you do erase the software manualy witch DTE
If it can not pull the software then it stops working

As far I know bootp entries are enabled by default.

Indeed bootp entry was present for the SOE, but it was separated by a switch, so i could be the problem when trying to pull the software.

i'm guessing something, DTE port intervention is not necessary at all when SOE loses its image.bin meanwhile you have a bootp entry or know how to create an appropriate one.
is that true?

When the SOE is out of software is will pull it automaticly if your bootp entry is right
