Hi

we have 2 sites we are connecting via a SIP Trunk.
i know advanced networking will have additional features but just looking for the odd call to be connected.

both sites are on 10.1 SP3 and have SIP trunks with a carrier
both IPO's are using an internal IP x.x.1.x

the issue we are having is that the call will ring and will acknowledge being answered or disconnected on port 5060
the UDP range though then is trying to talk to the other internal IP of the remote unit instead of the external, hence not routing

tried using a stun server with the same results.

easy fix is to add another external IP but the client doesn't want the cost

any thoughts?

thanks

the firewall settings will determine if it sends out the internal or external IP address as return address for the traffic.
No idea which setting does what though but I have to be honest I would NEVER use the public IP for anything like that because I hate the NAT'ing on the IPO for stuff like that.
I would create a VPN and connect that way

Why are you using an unsupported SIP connection for IP Office to IP Office connection? The only supported SIP connection is with Session Manager.

There is H.323, or web socket. Web socket can traverse NAT, so might be what you should be using.

Thanks Westi,

Not sure why i didnt think VPN?

probably because both sites are int he same subnet, will get one changed.

thanks,
