I am trying to find Avaya documentation in regard to IPO Server Ed and if it needs to have a path out to the internet. I've looked through both Avaya guides for Deployment of a 500 and Server edition.

Our service provider made some updates, removing the path in/out to/from the internet from the Voice VLAN. We have had no issues and would prefer to leave it this way. Wondering if i will run into ADI licensing issues down the road. Everything is talking fine over our MPLS and over VPN.

Anyone know off hand or know which Avaya guide to look at?

Thanks for your replies / Regards

There is absolutely no need to have Internet access.

The only thing I can think of is if you need to onboarding with Avaya if you want to utilize your IPOSS contact?
Other than that, SIP trunks if not a private connection to the ITSP.

or time server access if you do not run a local one.

SMTP server as well if yours is out there in the cloud

IP Office does not necessarily need an internet connection but it can be required for some functionality
