I have a IPO SE 9, using 9608 SIP phones.

The phones register and can take calls ok, but are in error mode (Triangle w/ bang/exclamation in middle).

I get no features on the phones at all, just basic 3 call appearances.

Any Ideas why the phone is not getting its full feature set?

How did you manage to get these phone on SIP firmware?

I'm primarily a CM engineer, I work with IPO when needed.

This phone had a beta load of SIP firmware from my CM/SM environment. Was simply hoping the same firmware would work, didn't know the 96x1 SIP phones weren't supported yet. Seems weird that they are not.. yet the the old Nortel 1120/1140 phones w/SIP are supported.. anyway..

But, it did register, make & receive calls using G722, just couldn't get the equivalent of a PPM from IPO SE rendering phone to SIP basic mode.

The IPOffice only supports the H.323 firmware.
Funny enough all the lagacy Avaya phones are not supported on SIP :)
The CM is going to SIP more and more (feature server) but the IPO is still on H.323

Aura (CM + SM) uses Avaya SIP Advanced Telephony to do most of the telephony features in SIP that you can do in H.323. That allows an Avaya IP Phone running SIP software on Aura to offer similar features as it does with H.323.

IP Office DOES support standard SIP telephony features and it can be be used. However, IP Office does NOT support Avaya SIP Advanced Telephony which means that an Avaya IP Phone running SIP software on IP Office does NOT offer similar features as it does with H.323. That is also why an 11xx/12xx running SIP software on IP Office does not offer all of the features that you can use with a 16xx/96xx running H.323 software.
