I just upgraded my Lab Dell 630 SE from 11.0.4 SP4 to 11.1. After the upgrade it looked as all processes came up when I look at the Monitor I have connected to system. The issue I have is I can not web to system or open Manager etc.
I tried a ping to the interfaces and getting timed out. I do an Ifconfig on server and it looks like interface are configured correctly and there are default GW set but system is not responding.
Has anyone else seen this after upgrading to 11.1? Maybe have idea of what I should look at.
Any help is appreciated.

Can you ping the gateway address from the LAN?
Can you ssh into the platform and ping the gateway from within the platform.

Similar setup to you, and my upgrade was pretty smooth.

I plug my laptop directly into Eth0 or Eth1 and can not ping or ssh either. Tried another laptop also.

I have Keyboard, mouse and Monitor connected to server and the everything looks fine but it isn't. :(

Just wanted to follow up in case anyone else runs into this. This is what I have found after doing upgrade on a Dell 630 server IPO SE 11.0 SP4 to 11.1. Happy it was only my lab and not a live system.

There are 4 Ethernet ports labeled 1-4 on back of the Dell 630.

Before the upgrade
Eth0 is port 1- 172.XXX.XX.XX
Eth1 is port 2 – 192.168. 43.1

After upgrade
Eth0 is port 3 – 172.XXX.XX.XX
Eth1 is Port 4 – 192.168.43.1

The DG was missing. I had to program back in from CLI.

The security settings were reset
Licenses were missing and the host ID changed. I had to rehost.
Also in system status under service alarms I have Additional Hard Drive: Status changed to Removed. ( No idea what that is)

Not sure why it happened. Guess I am the lucky one. I haven't seen anyone else have much of an issue when they have upgraded.

Thanks for the info... what an odd thing to happen... does Avaya bother testing anymore?

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

I just need to figure out what this alarm is. Any idea?

Don’t worry about the additional HD message unless your using Media Manager for recording.
It’s referring to the dedicated HD for media manager recordings.

Avaya sent me an email and said they recommend disconnecting server from the network before doing the 11.1 upgrade and this may not happen. I don't see that in any documentation LOL :(

There was a similar issue in 9.1 on Dell servers - a critical patch was issues for it. I only know this because I just received a project to replace a voicemail server on 9.1.3 without upgrading to 11

Thanks for responses.

Travis, Do you know how to clear that alarm? Rebooting doesn't fix it. This may have occurred because the Media manager service was not running as per the docs.
