Hey guys...
We have 7 IPO 500v2 currently running R10.1.5; and are going to be upgrading to the latest R11.0.4 sp2 soon. I checked, and currently all of our SD cards are 4GB with approx 35% space left on all of them. How much space will we need to upgrade to R11? Also - if we need to format & re-create the SD card do we have to do it via a PC with a card reader, or can we do it remotely thru the IP Office manager without having to remove it from the system?

Thanks,

Recreation can only be done using a card reader.

It's highly recommended to replace the card with a new one with 8GB.

I run a number of test rigs which go through an outrageous number of upgrades (almost weekly). Whilst I can't put an exact figure on the space threshold, those with old 4GB SD cards are good for maybe 2 upgrades before they need to be recreated (and being test rigs they aren't really being thrashed with user data and call logs, etc).

Well worth having a stock of 8GB cards and replacing the 4GB cards each time you have to go to site despite the pain of license migration.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Thanks guys - We just ordered 7 new SD cards via our avaya re-seller; they provided us with Avaya Part # 700479710. Can anyone confirm these are 8GB?

Only 8GB cards are supplied now. When received it will be obvious as the card number will start with 111.
