Hey Guys, So I have a customer in a school and they have close to 100+ phones. You can only have a max of 64 phones in a page group though (Hunt Group). Has anyone ever had this problem and found a workable work around where you can page more than 64?

Have you tried? I once paged a group well over 64, have they introduced an abritrary software limit now? :)

That I do not know, but you know whats funny, I currently have 83 users in this HG and only a few don't work. I don't really think the limitation is really set to this limit, but the few that don't work are crucial to work, so maybe by deleting some of the others, I will be able to get this to work the way I want it to.

Are you sure the users that did not work did not have their dnd activated? this would have prevented them from receiving the page

over 64 will work, but is not supported, and can be flaky, and can impact system performance in other ways. Best is to try and cover some of the area with OH paging (using an analog extension), and thus drop the total number of extensions (phones plus OH paging extension) to 64 or less.

If you have VM pro you can record and then post-dial to successive paging groups with the recorded paging message.

I don't think 64 users in a HG is the limit but the used conference channels during paging. 64 is the limit for a single conference on IP500. Server Edition has other limits.

Solution
use a paging amplifier & paging speakers.

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Lmao yeah we tried to go that route already

64 is a limit of the conference ability, and if that what controls the paging max, then that explains the flakiness. If you've got 83 people in the HG being paged, odds are some of them are on the phone and won't be paged. So the actual number of people being paged is likely never over 64, but if 19 people were on the phone, you'd never know that potentially some phone wouldn't get paged if all were idle.

can you imagine the feedback that you would get with that many phones being paged and phones are close to each other, the madness oh the madness
