IPO 9.1: Server is waiting on DNS server to resolve FQDN [smtp.gmail.com] 2

I have several other sites and use the same settings for setting up both system events. I use the same user name and password an all the same settings on 9.1 so I know the email address with google is working.

I am getting this error regarding the DNS:

SMTPServer is waiting on DNS server to resolve FQDN [smtp.gmail.com]

When I have had this error before I have just added the DSN in the system settings and it starts working.

Not this site. But the only thing different is that I have a separate router using 192.168.3.1 then going out to the campus separate network.

Could it be that the IPO can not get out to verify the google DNS?

IP Office remote service
IP Office certificate check
CLI based call blocking
SCN fallback over PSTN

Is this a Server Edition. or VM pro on pc/server or embedded vm?

If it is SE and or a vm pro PC have you tried to ping SMTP.gmail.com from the root or from command prompt of vm PC. Does it resolve?
I worked on a similar issue. If I used the IP address of SMTP.gmail.com emails worked but not with DNS name.
Ended up being customer firewall issue.
