IPO 9.1.7 Voicemail Pro service stopping

I have a VMPRO 9.1.7 running on a windows server 2012 R2. The voice mail is running a SCN. Once a week the the SSA voice mail tab changes to "none" and a link error displaying "Voicemail Pro connection failure". When I check under the voice mail pro services it displays "Stopping". It does not allow me to start the service or stop the service. I could not get the service back up until I reboot the server. Hope someone found a fix to this issue.

Check the Windows Event logs to find out what is causing this.

I checked the logs and it does not show any errors on the VMPRO service.

I do not know why but on some machines the base filtering engine service has caused issues. But turning it off, which means you also have to turn windows firewall off has solved strange issues like this for me. I don;t know if it will help you in this case, but I would try this if I were dealing with this issue.
 
I had the same issue on a fresh 2012 R2 server and 9.1.7. Had to roll it back to 9.1.6 for it to work.
