I searched and found something similar but it seemed to be when using embedded and we are using VM Pro.

Situation:
I have a main hunt group built with two users and sequential setup. When neither of the users answer the call, I have it configured to go to an overflow with one user in that group. If she doesn't answer, it goes to the hunt group mailbox which has been working fine.

Now the customer wants the unanswered calls to go to the overflow individual's mailbox. So I unchecked the voicemail box in the main hunt group, thinking that would make it go into the overflow user's mailbox. Now it just rings open instead. I know I can just add the Hgroup to her visual voicemail so she can get the messages, but is there any way to have the unanswered main group calls overflow to her phone (like it's doing now) AND then go into her individual mailbox?

I assume there is just something I am missing here.

use the leave action under the original hunt group in voicemail pro. just route the leave start point to a leave mail action with the user's extension number as the mailbox

Okay. I started going down that route, but stopped and made this post to make sure I was going to be making the correct decision. Thanks!

Why not just give the user access to the group mailbox?

Although this sort of hack will work it will invariably come back to bite your bum

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

why will it come back to bite? we do this all the time. the user has no need for two separate mailboxes, would rather have to only check one and manage one greeting.

Giving access to the group is what I had planned on doing. Once I explained it to the customer, they did not want the two separate mailboxes.

The problem I have now is with the "leave mail action" in place, it doesn't ring the overflow user to give her a chance to answer now. It just does directly to her voicemail. I am thinking correctly in that the overflow configuration follows the main group configuration as far as voicemail goes, correct?

This brings me to another question as well. I know on the CS1000 we have a class of service parameter called secondary call forwarding. Is there anything like that on the IP Office? For instance, I call User A and his phone forward no answer to User B which goes to voicemail. The voicemail that answers is User A, but I want it to be User B.

just make sure your voicemail timer is longer than your overflow timer. the call will go to the original groups vm.

The voicemail timer is at 30 and the overflow is 15
