Hi guys,

I'm trying to find out how administration ( customer) can be notified if failover of the IPO or the VM server has occured. Avaya points back to the phone display status, but in reality are there any methods to notify IT if it kicked-in.

Thank you!

Sure, setup email alerts.
If voicemail stops then you will receive an email and when the backup voicemail kicks in then you get one too.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

thanks for the reply. but I dont understand what mechanism is responsible for email alert. are you talking SNMP or something else?

TIA.

Start IP Office Manager, press F1, select search and enter System Alarms, read.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Although Sizbut is right ( you should use the help file) i will tell you :)
On the system settings there is a tab with System events and there you can set alarms for SMTP, syslog or SNMP.
I never used the SNMP part but the email or syslog alarm do work well.
