Ok, so we have a client who has digital stations on their desktop. They want to be able to VPN in from home and control their station using the Phone Manager IPro. However, in order for them to be able to connect, I have to create a VOIP ext which is different than their digital station.

So hence the question, how do we make it so the user can "control" their station with the softphone? From what I'm seeing, it looks like we have to do forwarding, or something strange along those lines... or I'm just going cross eyed.

Easy, set up a base VoIP ext for the user. Once logged into it they can then hotdesk to their digit station ID. Or, you can create a VoIP ext for the user and add shared appearance keys to get calls from thier digital staion ID.

I think you are talking about using an ip phone superjenks rather than the pm ip softphone

JeSTeRock, you are correct. I went to our lab and tested it and it doesnt work that way. I stand corrected thanks. I even tried the bridged appearance and couldnt get that to work either. I think the forwarding option will be the only way to accomplish the objective..

Do I understand u correct SuperJenks that it isn'possible to use hotdesk feature to logon as the same user either on the softphone(agentmode on Phone Manager)when (s)he's at home or on the digital set using the logon shortcode *35*N*passcode#?

You can't not have a login (hotdesk) code and use phone manager ip softphone... Just doesn't work at the moment, or have i got that wrong ? anyone know of other ways around it or something on the roadmap ?

Jetsterock you should be able to do this.

Set up you phone manager as Log in log out from base extension this is under Config on phone manager.

From there you specify the Base port and the user name who is going to us the port.

PS I am assuming that you have got phone manager VOIP working on another user first if you haven’t get that to go then try changing the users

[cheers]

Really. I thought that there was a problem multicasting voice packets to twp devices. Are you sure that a PMVoip user can log into an existing user profile and still receive VoIP to PM?
